Jennifer Dieman

LPCC (she/her)8 years of experience

I'm a down-to-earth therapist who loves working with little ones, though I welcome clients of all ages. I try to make therapy feel like a safe, comfortable space where there's no pressure to have it all figured out. My style is relaxed and genuine, and I meet people right where they are. You'll often find me in my therapist chair with my shoes kicked off and a blanket on my lap.

First session

For child and teen clients, the process begins with a caregiver consultation and comprehensive intake questionnaire. This is dedicated time for caregivers to share their concerns, ask questions, and align on goals. Caregivers deserve space to speak candidly and children shouldn't bear the weight of overhearing an hour-long conversation about their own challenges. For adult clients, the first session is a comprehensive intake covering personal history, current concerns, and therapeutic goals.

Strengths

I tend to create connection quickly, even with clients who are guarded or hesitant. This skill was forged early in my career working in community mental health alongside foster children, autistic youth, and trauma survivors, a setting that demands both versatility and genuine human presence. I bring EMDR training to my work and am actively pursuing my Registered Play Therapist credential, attending both state and international conferences. I'm committed to growing as a clinician, because my clients deserve someone who never stops learning.

Ideal clients

I use a variety of evidence-based techniques. I tailor my approach to meet each child exactly where they are. I am EMDR (Eye Movement and Desistization Reprocessing) trained and I am working toward my RPT (Registered Play Therapy) certification. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and engaging space where your child can explore their feelings, learn emotional regulation skills, and move past the challenges that brought you here. I firmly believe that by strengthening your child's innate resilience and working closely with you, the parent, we can create lasting, positive change.
