Hi, I'm Ashley Rankin! I'm a psychotherapist who specializes in individual and couples counseling, and I'm passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges and build stronger relationships. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, I moved to Central Florida in 2018 to pursue my graduate education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Appalachian State University and later completed my Master of Clinical Social Work at the University of Central Florida. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida, with expertise in psychotherapy, crisis management, and treatment planning. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me at home in St. Cloud with my husband and our German Shepherd, Rusty. I love spending my free time reading and running—both activities that help me recharge and stay grounded. I'm grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside people during pivotal moments in their lives, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is all about getting to know each other and creating a foundation of trust and comfort. We'll begin with introductions where I'll share a bit about my approach and background, and I'll invite you to tell me about yourself—not just what brings you to therapy, but who you are as a person. This is your space, so we'll discuss your goals for therapy at whatever pace feels right for you, and you're welcome to share as much or as little as you're comfortable with about what's been happening in your life. I know that opening up to someone new can feel vulnerable, so I'll follow your lead and never push you beyond your boundaries. The atmosphere will be warm, inviting, and genuinely supportive—think of it as a collaborative conversation where we're building a partnership focused on your wellbeing and growth.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe in meeting you exactly where you are with warmth and genuine understanding, creating a safe space where you can explore your challenges without judgment. Whether you're navigating family dynamics, working through anxious thoughts, or seeking greater balance in your life, I'm here to support your journey with compassion and optimism. Together, we will build on what's already working while addressing what feels stuck, always respecting your unique perspective and goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, couples, individual, teen, and career counseling.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach combines solution-focused techniques, person-centered care, motivational interviewing, and CBT to help you discover your strengths and develop practical strategies for managing depression, stress, anxiety, and relationship issues. I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, asking thoughtful questions and providing tools that empower you to make meaningful changes.

Stepping into Ashley's space, you immediately feel this incredible warmth & understanding. I've been with her for almost 2 full years now. She offers such gentle yet practical insights that have genuinely helped me grow . Ashley truly is that 'ear' we sometimes desperately need, she just listens, without an ounce of judgment. Her guidance is so insightful and compassionate. From that very first 'hello,' she made me feel utterly comfortable, her support is a true gift.

I literally could not ask for a better therapist (I have had 2 prior). She listens, she validates, but also challenges me when I need to be challenged. She helps me look deeper into everything. We also have a lot in common with upbringings and experiences so it is nice to have someone who understands
