My personal and professional experiences have created a wealth of knowledge that able me to provide support and guidance that will lead to positive outcomes. My experience includes, forensic population, homeless, chronic and persistent mental illness, child, adult and family therapy, adhd, peer and social issues, and developing coping skills.
Our first meeting will be an introduction, getting to know each other and setting goals for future sessions and treatment. We will explore your story and set intentions for recovery.
I use a solution focused model which first identifies an outcome and then together work towards achieving that goal. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT) which has proven to be effective with the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, by managing emotions and reducing stress and anxiety. CBT is also a great tool to address chronic stress, fear, low self-esteem, and other emotional struggles.
My entire career thus far has been in mental health. I feel this is my strength, with my knowledge and the experiences I have shared with clients has enabled me to provide a supportive and safe space for growth. More recently I have been involved with the forensic population and recognize the difficulties it has on not only the individual but their families and support system. Transitioning from one setting to another, whether that be forensic, retirement, ending an athletic career or starting something new is a challenge and I can help break that challenge down, making it accessible and achievable.
