Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is designed as an opportunity to get to know each other. We will do an in-depth exploration of your history and how it has affected who you are today. We will identify the goals you want to work towards and spend a good amount of time helping you see a positive outcome is in your future. We will have an open dialogue about who I am and what I can offer you as a therapist. Lastly, and most importantly, we will end our session giving you the opportunity to decide if I am the right person to join you on this path to recovery.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I use a solution focused model which first identifies an outcome and then together work towards achieving that goal. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT) which has proven to be effective with the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, by managing emotions and reducing stress and anxiety. CBT is also a great tool to address chronic stress, fear, low self-esteem, and other emotional struggles.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My entire career thus far has been in mental health. I feel this is my strength, with my knowledge and the experiences I have shared with clients has enabled me to provide a supportive and safe space for growth. More recently I have been involved with the forensic population and recognize the difficulties it has on not only the individual but their families and support system. Transitioning from one setting to another, whether that be forensic, retirement, ending an athletic career or starting something new is a challenge and I can help break that challenge down, making it accessible and achievable.
