(she/her)
Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor based in Florida. I received my Master's degree in Counselor Education with a Concentration in Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. I have been practicing for just over two years and my primary experience has been working with adults who live with substance use combined with mental health disorders. Prior to working as a therapist, I worked in behavioral health for various in/outpatient treatment centers. I have also recently began working with adolescents who are navigating behavioral issues.
In our first session together, we will spend some time with introductions while you, the client, decide if we are a good fit. Every therapist is not for every person! We will determine what brought you to therapy and develop a customized plan to work towards your long and short term goals.
I have worked with individuals going through major changes in their lives for my entire career. As someone with lived experiences navigating significant trials and tribulations, I find it rewarding to help my clients, often in the worst parts of their lives, find their true potential.
I love working with adults aged 18+ who are working towards long-term recovery and are getting started in their new lives. We are all in recovery from something whether it be substance use, mental health issues, or surviving trauma. I am also open to working with children and teens between the ages of 10 and 17 who struggle with behavioral issues that affect them socially and educationally.
I believe in the power of "connecting the dots." My use of open-ended questions allows me to listen to what is not being said and gently guide my clients towards recognizing gaps they may not have noticed before.
I believe that my clients are the expert on their own lives and I found that coming from a place of curiosity and intrigue combined with asking the right questions helps clients realize their true potential.
As human beings, we are shaped by our early relationships. I like to explore how these initial dynamics affect relationships with our partners, families, and friends in the present-day.
It is understandable that not everyone has the means or resources to engage in long-term therapy. This modality allows the client to work through a specific issue in five sessions or less and take their tools with them.
