I was born and raised in Southern California in a family grounded in conservative and faith-based values that emphasized compassion, service, integrity, and hard work. Those values played a significant role in shaping both my personal life and my approach to patient care. My journey into healthcare began after moving to Las Vegas, where I pursued my nursing education and discovered a passion for serving individuals during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. My professional career started in emergency medicine, where I spent ten years working as a registered nurse in high-acuity emergency departments and behavioral health settings. During that time, I cared for patients facing medical crises, psychiatric emergencies, trauma, addiction, and complex emotional challenges. Working in fast-paced environments strengthened my clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure. It also deepened my understanding of the strong connection between physical and mental health. While raising a family, I continued my education and earned a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). As I worked more closely with patients, I recognized the growing need for accessible and compassionate mental health care, which inspired me to pursue additional specialty training and board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). For the past five years, I have had the privilege of serving patients as a nurse practitioner, integrating my backgrounds in primary care and psychiatry to provide comprehensive, patient-centered treatment. My goal is to support individuals with empathy, evidence-based care, and personalized treatment plans that address both emotional and physical well-being.
Clients working with me can expect a supportive, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where their concerns are genuinely heard and valued. I believe that understanding mental health is an important part of healing, so I take time to educate patients about their symptoms, diagnoses, and available treatment options in a way that feels approachable and empowering. My goal is to help clients feel confident and informed when making decisions about their care. Together, we develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique experiences, goals, lifestyle, and preferences. I focus on creating practical and sustainable strategies that promote emotional wellness, resilience, and long-term growth. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions, I aim to provide compassionate guidance, evidence-based care, and ongoing support so clients can feel more balanced, understood, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges.
My greatest strengths as a clinician come from the integration of my diverse clinical background, my commitment to evidence-based practice, and my ability to build strong therapeutic alliances grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration. Having spent ten years as a registered nurse in high-acuity emergency and behavioral health settings, I developed a strong clinical foundation in managing complex medical and psychiatric presentations under pressure. That experience shaped my ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate in situations where patients are often experiencing significant distress or crisis. It also gave me a deep appreciation for the connection between physical and mental health, which continues to guide my holistic approach to care today. One of the key strengths that stands out in my therapeutic approach is my ability to meet patients where they are without judgment while still guiding them toward meaningful change. I believe that effective treatment begins with understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms. I take time to listen carefully to each patient’s story, validate their experiences, and create a safe space where they feel heard and respected. From there, I work collaboratively with patients to develop treatment plans that are realistic, individualized, and aligned with their personal goals and values. My approach is strongly rooted in evidence-based care, combining psychopharmacology with therapeutic interventions such as psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, and supportive therapy techniques. I place a strong emphasis on helping patients understand their diagnoses and treatment options in clear, accessible language. Education is a central part of my work because I believe that when patients understand the “why” behind their symptoms and treatment, they become more engaged and empowered in their own healing process. Another strength is my ability to bridge primary care and mental health. As both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I bring an integrated perspective that allows me to address both physical and emotional contributors to a patient’s symptoms. This is especially valuable in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders, where medical and psychological factors are often intertwined. I also place strong emphasis on collaboration and shared decision-making. I do not view myself as the sole decision-maker in treatment; instead,
My approach is empathetic, science-based, and highly collaborative. I use evidence-informed assessment tools and focus on educating my patients about their mental health and treatment options. My goal is to empower clients to take an active role in their mental wellness through a personalized treatment plan that prioritizes both safety and autonomy. Clients working with me can expect to gain a clear understanding of their mental health, feel supported in their care decisions, and walk away with a tailored, effective plan that fits their unique needs and goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my mental health practice, I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based approach to support patients experiencing Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Through CBT interventions, I help patients identify maladaptive thought patterns, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop healthier coping strategies that improve emotional regulation and daily functioning. I have seen CBT empower patients to better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, allowing them to build resilience, reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms, and strengthen problem-solving skills. By focusing on cognitive restructuring and patient-centered collaboration, I aim to equip individuals with practical tools that promote long-term self-efficacy and improved mental wellness.
