(she/her)
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as well as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology who is licensed in both Texas and Hawaii. I love working with adolescents and adults and specialize in the treatment of trauma and abuse. In addition to this, I have a great deal of experience assisting clients struggling with depression, anxiety, grief & loss, self-esteem, stress management, and many other life challenges. I like to work from a strengths-based & mindfulness perspective and look forward to helping you achieve the peaceful quality of life that you deserve.
Our first session will include brief introductions followed by questions related to why you are seeking therapy, as well as information pertaining to your background and family structure.
My goal as a therapist is to help you to improve your overall quality of life. I work from a strengths-based perspective to help you achieve mental wellness and peace.
I love helping clients who are motivated to change, but may not have the proper tools to help them navigate this change successfully. My clients are open to constructive feedback and willing to employ different strategies and techniques in order to make positive changes in their lives. I strongly believe that if you want to change the circumstance in your life, you need to be willing to change the way you do things.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been utilizing CBT techniques for over 20 years. I find CBT extremely effective in helping my patients learn to identify cognitive distortions/beliefs and challenge them utilizing alternative positive coping strategies that can be life changing.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I find CPT extremely helpful when treating patients who have experienced and are having difficulty coping with previously experienced traumatic events in their lives. CPT is an excellent treatment method to help patients understand how traumatic responses develop and learn more effective ways to process and perceive these responses.
