Carnel Jones
I am a licensed professional counselor with 10 years of experience supporting adult, adolescence, children, couples, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized, while integrating evidence based interventions to help clients gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting, meaningful change.
First session
After the initial session, I hope the clients feel safe sharing their emotions/struggles, heard, understood, and supported, with a greater sense of hope about moving forward. We will begin identifying their concerns, goals, and their strengths while developing a treatment plan for their therapy. Within individuals, I focus on personal growth and practical coping skills. With couples and families, I focus primarily on improving communication, strengthening relationships, and creating your patterns of interactions.
Strengths
I bring empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach to every session. My personal and professional experiences helped me create a safe space for clients be heard and supported. I need clients where they are gently challenging them to recognize their strength and make meaningful changes.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult in their 30s to mid 40s, who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or challenges related to major life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or about how to move forward. They are seeking a supportive nonjudgmental environment, where they can openly explore their concerns, develop healthier coping skills, improve communication and relationships come and gain greater confidence of emotional well-being
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavior therapy to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. During our sessions, we work together to identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns that may contribute to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship, difficulties, or feeling overwhelmed. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, where clients can explore their concerns, gang, self-awareness, and develop healthier perspectives. Together, we examine whether certain thoughts are accurate or helpful and practice, replacing them with more balanced and constructive ways of thinking. I also help clients develop practical skills for managing difficult emotions, reduce stress, improve communication, setting healthy boundaries, resolving conflict, and responding more effectively to life‘s challenges. My approaches, collaborative and personalized, allow each client to work at a comfortable pay while building confidence and creating meaningful, lasting change.
