I'm so glad you're here! Do you find yourself struggling right now? Do you feel stuck in a cycle that you can't seem to break or are you just tired of feeling unhappy or unfulfilled? So many of us struggle to prioritize our emotional wellbeing which can cause significant difficulties in our lives. I enjoy empowering my clients to live their life to the fullest using a strengths perspective. I am passionate about using a client centered approach to know each client's individual experiences, goals and dreams. We will work together to connect you to a rich and fulfilling life. I have over 20 years of experience working with various client populations providing individual therapy. I enjoy providing compassionate care to my clients and giving them a safe space to hold whatever comes up for them in our session. I apply a varied theoretical approach for my clients which can include Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among others. Please take this time to prioritize your needs and emotional wellbeing.
During our first session we will work together to establish your current therapy needs and goals. We will also begin the process of identifying any long standing patterns of behavior that might be getting in your way. I like to provide the client with some kind of "homework" after the first session to maintain attention to positive change. You will find yourself looking forward to attending our sessions as they provide you with a helpful, caring and safe space to deal with life's difficulties.
I use a variety of clinical approaches with my clients. I have completed two programs for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and apply the skills used in MBSR often in our work. Some of these skills include observing thoughts, non-judgment and acceptance. I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) tools often to aid clients with relationship struggles, emotional regulation issues and many other difficulties. I have completed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training and currently working toward certification. Other approaches I use include CBT (Cognitive, Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems).
I believe my biggest strength is my ability to create a caring, supportive and non-judgmental environment for my client. I really enjoy helping and empowering people in whatever ways they need. I also enjoy working with children and families. I have been told by clients that it was a sigh of relief having our session because they were able to discuss a very personal issue with the most ease possible.
