Noah Ingalls
My name is Noah Ingalls. I have been practicing for about 3 years now and my experience has been within the private practice setting as well as school-based counseling. Outside of my practice, I am happily married and have one son with our two dachshunds.
Welcome! I am Noah Ingalls and have been practicing for three years now in both the private practice setting and the school-based setting.
I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, and I also coach middle school basketball during the winter months.
First session
By the end of the first session, I hope a client feels proud of themselves simply for showing up. Therapy is hard, and spilling your guts to a stranger is extremely difficult. I think clients should expect a slowed start due to the nature of therapy. It can sometimes take a while to get to the bones of therapy. Taking your time with me is what you can expect. I will always respect when a client is just not ready to have a harder than normal session.
Strengths
I think my strengths would be my patience and ability to give my clients space to think and feel. I truly believe silence is and underrated tool that we take for granted. I also think my goal-focused approach to therapy is a strength because it allows clients to see their progress and be able to measure it. Therapy is such a difficult space to measure but giving some sort of foundation can be so beneficial.
Ideal clients
My ideal client would be someone who steps through the door with an open mind and even just a sliver of readiness to create change. I am willing to meet clients wherever they are at as long as they are ready to start making some changes. I am not asking clients to make crazy life changing changes but even simple ways to try something new in order to help themselves be the best them they can be. Their concerns can range from a variety of things such as excessive worry, depression, family/relationship issues, parenting, habit changes, or concerns surrounding the effects of past trauma.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Using CBT, we can analyze our thoughts and examine the evidence behind those thoughts. This helps clients be able to break down realistic and unrealistic expectations and thoughts they could be having. It also promotes behavior change in clients and helps them develop balanced alternatives to unhelpful thoughts.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and create achievable steps toward their goals. By focusing on solutions rather than problems, clients build confidence and make meaningful progress in their lives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT techniques to help clients manage intense emotions, build resilience, improve communication, and develop practical skills for coping with life's challenges.
