In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support is not always easy. If you’re facing personal challenges, relationship difficulties, family concerns, or a major life transition, you don’t have to go through it alone. I invite you to book a session with me, where I will take the time to listen, understand what you’re experiencing, and work with you to develop a clear and supportive path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take a calm, empathetic, and direct conversational approach that is focused on helping you find practical, meaningful solutions. With many years of clinical and life experience, I bring a depth of understanding and clinical expertise that allows me to support clients in ways that go beyond what newer clinicians are often able to offer.

My treatment methods

Family Therapy

I am trained in family systems working with individuals, couples, and families. The specific model I am trained in looks at the patterns, themes, and triangles that are in play for the individual, couple, or family. The focus is on changing your position within the family and altering negative patterns.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on how our thinking influences how we feel and how we behave. If we can change our thinking, it changes our mood and how we react.

Couples Counseling

No one has a perfect relationship. Having a good relationship depends upon possessing a number of skills. This involves understanding yourself and your partner, having the ability to negotiate differences, problem solving, and addressing ineffective patterns learned from our families growing up. Couples counseling focuses on building skills that work in a relationship and changing ineffective patterns.

Gottman method

This is a specific research based approach to marital/couples work that focuses on changing negative patterns, deepening emotional connection, and building long term friendship.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This is a research based approach that teaches you how to observe your thoughts and emotions without judgement while also using meditation. It is often used in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy.
