As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with more than 12 years of diverse clinical experience, I am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating a broad spectrum of mental health concerns. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, panic disorders, eating disorders, cultural and ethnic issues, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where patients feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their healing journey. I take the time to understand your concerns, educate you about your treatment options, and develop a personalized plan that aligns with your goals. My approach emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and treating the whole person—not just the symptoms. Whether you're seeking care for the first time or looking for a provider who truly listens, I'm committed to helping you build resilience, regain balance, and achieve lasting emotional wellness.

First session

Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding your concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, current medications, and treatment goals. We'll discuss what has been working, what hasn't, and any questions or concerns you may have. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals for therapy or additional services if appropriate. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable, heard, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.

Strengths

I bring compassion, empathy, and a collaborative approach to every session. I take the time to listen without judgment, explain treatment options clearly, and ensure you feel informed and involved in your care. My goal is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and confident that we are working together toward meaningful, lasting improvement.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are adults who are ready to take an active role in improving their mental health. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, or other emotional challenges and are looking for compassionate, evidence-based care. Whether they are seeking treatment for the first time or returning after previous experiences, I enjoy working with individuals who value open communication, are motivated to make meaningful changes, and want a collaborative partner in their journey toward lasting emotional wellness.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles into medication management by helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, recognize how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies. During sessions, we work on practical, evidence-based techniques to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health concerns. When appropriate, I also encourage ongoing therapy with a licensed therapist for more in-depth CBT while coordinating care to support the best possible outcomes.

Emily is wonderful. She really took the time to review my paperwork and listened to everything that I had to say. She also took into account other things I had going on with my health and is working towards a solution. I look forward to continuing to work with her.
