Hi I am Rashida Amra Williams. A licensed Clinical Social Worker in NYS. I have over 30 years experience . I enjoy working with persons from all walks of life and ethnicities. I want to hear about your experiences and the individual road you have traveled without any judgements I believe the first thing we must focus on is to help you feel comfortable and develop our relationship. I believe we are a collaborative team our work together must address your priorities and needs. One of the things you will hear from me is "Are you getting your needs met". Additionally, I encourage folks to tell me if the suggestions/interventions fit their lifestyle and preferences. Life has many complexities. It is important to look at all aspects of a persons life and its' influence on persons functioning. This includes, health, finances, personal histories, spirituality, cultural influences, family and other relationships, etc. Were do not live in a vacuum and these are important factors. I look forward to being a partner in your journe of growth and change.
First session
A number for session, I really focus on developing our relationship, having you feel comfortable and hearing your story, we will move in the pace that is most comfortable to you. I realize that it is difficult to disclose certain aspects of our life, and I want you to share as much or as little as we get to know each other I will not move an interaction that is not comfortable for your overall well-being. We will move at a pace that will not cause you discomfort. If it is difficult to tell your story, I will help you find ways to manage your physical, emotional, and overall well-being. This may include helping you develop coping skills at the physical, emotional areas to decrease the discomfort as much as possible.

I have been a clinical social worker for over 30 years. In that time, I have encountered a multitude of issues and concerns. I have had the privilege to work with persons from all walks of life, all different age, groups, and all cultural backgrounds. I work with individuals who have family concerns with their children or as a couple. Also, I have addressed trauma, mood disorders, addictions, domestic violence, LGBTQ in women's issues. I have also worked in with individuals from all ethnic groups to manage the majority culture while maintaining their personal cultural integrity, I am very comfortable working with individuals, couples and families. I'd like to utilize the holistic approach, which includes how the person interfaces with their environment, health, culture, spirituality, etc. I believe in using a bag of tricks, which means that I incorporate different strategies according to the persons unique needs in situation.
