Joseph (Joe) Jablonski, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who provides compassionate, patient-centered care. He specializes in the evaluation and management of anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders. Joe brings a diverse clinical background to his practice. He has experience as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach and registered nurse in a surgical intensive care unit, as well as serving as a high school nurse—roles that have shaped his ability to connect with patients across different age groups and life circumstances. Over the past two years, he has worked in geriatric inpatient psychiatry and an adult intensive outpatient program further expanding his expertise in managing complex mental health conditions. With this broad foundation, Joe is well-equipped to support individuals from various backgrounds, tailoring treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique needs while fostering a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship.

First session

During the initial assessment, we will begin a collaborative process to understand your unique background and current circumstances. Developing an effective, personalized treatment plan requires a strong foundational understanding of each client's history and goals. This first session serves as a comprehensive evaluation to explore your current situation and the contributing factors that led to your seeking care. Together, we will work to identify potential blind spots, gain constructive new perspectives, and develop or refine the coping skills necessary to effectively manage the emotions and behaviors associated with your current life stressors.

Strengths

Joe creates a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and respected. He believes the best outcomes come from building a collaborative relationship and developing treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals and values. Using an evidence-based, holistic approach, Joe combines thoughtful medication management with education, lifestyle interventions, and practical coping strategies. He views mental health through a biopsychosocial lens, emphasizing the importance of quality sleep, nutrition, physical activity, meaningful relationships, and psychotherapy while using medication when it is likely to provide meaningful benefit. His goal is to help patients achieve lasting symptom relief and improve their overall quality of life—not just treat a diagnosis.

Ideal clients

Joe enjoys working with adolescents and adults who are ready to take an active role in improving their mental health. His ideal clients may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, trauma-related symptoms, or difficulty balancing the demands of work, school, or family. Whether someone is seeking help for the first time or looking for a fresh perspective after previous treatment, Joe provides a supportive, collaborative environment focused on long-term wellness. Patients who value evidence-based care, practical coping strategies, lifestyle changes, and thoughtful medication management tend to thrive in his practice. Together, they develop individualized treatment plans that help patients build resilience, improve daily functioning, and achieve their personal goals. Specialized areas of focus drawing from his unique life experiences and professional background, Joe has a deep passion for supporting: - Healthcare Providers: Navigating burnout, moral injury, and the intense stress of balancing a demanding career with home life. - Students & Young Professionals: Managing the unique anxiety and depression that comes with striving for growth, high achievement, and independence (academic, athletic, career, or financial). - Overstretched Parents: Balancing the heavy demands of managing a home, family, marriage, and career. - Older Adults: Navigating late-life transitions, including retirement, empty nesting, downsizing, and coping with the loss of a spouse or close friends.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice alongside thoughtful medication management to provide a truly holistic approach to wellness. While medication can help stabilize your biology and lower the daily intensity of your symptoms, CBT equips you with the actual tools to change the unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors driving your stress or anxiety. My approach to CBT is highly collaborative, active, and solution-focused. Because lasting change happens outside of our sessions, we will often collaborate on practical, between-session "homework"—such as tracking a mood pattern, practicing a relaxation technique, or gently challenging a negative thought. By combining evidence-based medical care with real-world, actionable strategies, you will build the practical coping skills needed to achieve long-term resilience.
