LMFT, 5 years of experience
Welcome! I'm Nancy Neidhardt and if you are reading this, I would like to acknowledge the brave step you are taking in seeking therapy. It's not easy, but you are here! My goal is to provide an environment where you feel safe and comfortable to explore what has gotten in the way of more happiness. Anxiety and Depression have a way of sneaking up on us, and we will explore how they came around while at the same time encouraging kindness towards yourself. I also focus on helping to develop assertive communication and boundary setting that can help improve your quality of life. You have taken the first steps towards improving your mental health, and I will be honored if you will allow me to accompany you on this journey. You deeply deserve to thrive in life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. Together, we will create a plan with goals for us to work towards in follow-up sessions. It is usually a bit nerve wracking to meet someone new who you will be trusting with your mental health journey, and I hope to help you feel comfortable quickly.
My greatest strength as a counselor is to help you feel comfortable and not judged. I hope you will consider working with me!
I love working with adults of all ages, especially people 65+, and I have a special passion for couples and teens.
I utilize a combination of Cognitive Based Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative as well as Solution Focused Therapy to fit each individuals needs.

Nancy listens openly and intently, reflects back what she sees and hears, shares honestly (authentically) from her mind and heart and gently encourages (empowers) me to say the words and take the steps I need to honor myself and my emotions. She is very direct and respectful at the same time. I can tell that I am finding strength in myself that I had forgotten. I feel better able to understand myself -- and to honor in myself that which I don't yet understand.
