About me

There is a moment in every person’s story when something says, “I can’t keep doing this the same way.” That moment matters. It may be quiet, messy, unexpected, or long overdue—but it can also be the beginning of something different. After more than 20 years in behavioral health and over 11 years as a clinician, I’ve learned that therapy is not about having all the answers. It’s about having a place to stop, breathe, tell the truth about where you are, and discover where you want to go next.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

If this is your first time in therapy, I want you to leave our first session thinking, “I’m glad I came.” Not because we solved everything in one hour, but because you felt comfortable enough to be yourself and understood enough to know you’re in the right place. I hope you leave with a little less weight on your shoulders, a clearer sense of what brought you here, and maybe even a new way of looking at something that has been difficult for you. You don’t have to tell your whole story perfectly, have the right words, or know exactly what you need yet. We can figure that out together. Most of all, I want your first session to feel less like an interview and more like the beginning of a relationship where you can finally say, “I don’t have to do this by myself.”

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and couples concerns, and the challenges that can come with different stages of life. I support teens, adults, and older adults, as well as women and men navigating identity, relationships, family, work, major transitions, and the expectations that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I’m especially interested in what may be happening beneath the surface—the person who seems to have it all together but is quietly struggling, the relationship that has lost its connection, or the past that continues to show up in the present. My goal isn’t to define you by what brought you to therapy. It’s to help you understand yourself more deeply, recognize what is already within you, and discover what becomes possible when you no longer have to carry everything by yourself. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. You just need to be willing to begin.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Who I Work With My ideal client is not defined by a diagnosis, age, or a particular life circumstance. It is someone who is ready to pause, become curious about what is happening beneath the surface, and take an honest look at what may no longer be working. I work with teens, adults, older adults, and couples who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next. Culture, Family & Identity I believe our emotions do not develop in isolation. They are shaped by the families who raised us, the communities we grew up in, our cultural traditions, relationships, expectations, and the experiences that taught us what it means to be strong, successful, vulnerable, or loved. My own Italian background has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of family, connection, loyalty, tradition, and strong values. At the same time, my personal culture is not a lens I place over someone else’s experience. It has taught me to be curious rather than assume. I respect that every person brings their own cultural story, beliefs, traditions, identity, and definition of family into the therapy room. My goal is to understand your world—not ask you to fit into mine. Our First Session Our first session is about getting to know you—not checking boxes or trying to solve your entire life in one hour. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope will change, and what you need from this process. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of who I am and how I work. From there, we’ll begin creating a plan together that feels realistic, meaningful, and uniquely yours.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

Every person who walks into therapy brings a different story, a different history, and a different reason for being there. That is where my work begins. I take time to understand what is happening on the surface while also looking beneath it—your patterns, experiences, relationships, beliefs, strengths, and the needs that may not always have words. From there, I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, choosing what makes sense for you rather than following a rigid formula. I think of therapy as having a full toolbox: sometimes we need to change a thought, sometimes we need to tolerate an emotion, sometimes we need to accept what we cannot control and move toward what matters. For example, with CBT, we might discover that a stressful situation quickly turns into the thought, “I’m failing at everything.” Instead of simply replacing it with a positive statement, we slow the moment down: What happened? What did you tell yourself? What did you feel? What did you do next? Together, we examine the evidence, identify the thinking pattern, and practice a response that is more balanced and useful. I want you to understand why you feel and respond the way you do—not just learn a technique to get through the day. Once we understand the pattern, we can begin changing it.
