I strive to create a safe space where people can work on building upon identified strengths, challenge personal negative assumptions or beliefs, and develop a new mindset to confront daily life obstacles. It is my belief that the way that people think directly influences their perspectives of self, how they engage with others, and how they function on a day to day basis. Sometimes we can feel helpless and bound to our thoughts; however, I believe that thoughts are like habits, and habits can be eventually be broken or modified.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I can understand that being vulnerable with a stranger can be very intimidating, so during our first session, we can get to know each other and identify your specific needs. Therapy is not a race.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I utilize humor in my practice as I believe that laughter itself is therapeutic and can provide a pathway to thinking about negativity in a different light. I can see past people's perceived negative qualities and focus on their strengths/ uniqueness.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured and goal-oriented treatment modality. I have found that CBT effectively increases awareness of how thoughts influence mood and behaviors. My goal is to offer guidance with identifying problematic belief systems and train your mind to think differently to confront identified life barriers.
