(she/her)
I took a somewhat unconventional path to become a therapist, first having a career in the corporate world in sales management. After becoming a mother, I realized how HARD motherhood was and how there wasn't a "What to Expect" book for transitioning from corporate woman to stay-at-home mom. I eventually chose to pursue a career as a therapist so that I could support others in ways I wished I had been supported. Along the way, I have worked with a lot of children and teens, and want to help support them as well because it's also hard growing up in a world with social media, after an unprecedented period of isolation.
During the first session, we will get to know each other. Some clients are ready to jump right in. Others might be new to therapy or just want to move at a slower pace. Both styles are fine with me, as I am happy to work at your pace to help you get the most out of the process.
I provide a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment. We often discuss a lot of heavy material in session, but that doesn't mean that I won't also incorporate humor or fun sometimes as well. I will periodically ask for your feedback as to what is or isn't working, in order to help you get the most out of our time together.
I enjoy working with adults, families, parents, as well as children and teens individually, in order to reduce symptoms and improve relationships. My approach works well with children, teens, and adults struggling with anger and irritability, withdrawal and isolation, low self-esteem, and excessive worry. I also help those struggling with all stages of parenting from infertility to postpartum to empty nesters, and all of the transitions in between. I use an eclectic, client-centered approach to tailor treatment to best meet the needs of each individual. Sometimes that might look very structured and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Other times a more collaborative, narrative approach may be needed to help externalize the problem and shift beliefs. Whether you're experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, or having difficulty managing your emotions or relationships, my goal is to support you in finding connections and increasing your understanding. Understanding of: self, others, and how your past experiences might still be impacting your present. Together in a safe, non-judgmental space, we will explore and develop your goals and take steps together to help you reach them. Whatever the path that led you here, let's connect and see if we are a good fit to work together.

I identify as
EMDR
I have been trained and utilizing EMDR, both in person and virtually, since 2020 to support symptom reduction in clients with PTSD and anxiety. From emdria.org, "EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes, showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences (Maxfield, 2019)."
