I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and reconnect with their authentic selves. With a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, I support clients in navigating life’s challenges, strengthening relationships, and building emotional resilience. My work is rooted in compassion, honesty, and empowerment, creating a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey toward meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. We’ll spend time getting to know what brings you to therapy, exploring your current concerns, and identifying what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, relationships, and emotional experiences, while also making sure you feel comfortable and supported throughout. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for my approach. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and next steps, setting the foundation for your healing and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between compassion and real, meaningful change. I create a space where clients feel deeply seen and supported, while also gently challenging them to grow beyond patterns that no longer serve them. My work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to each individual. I integrate evidence-based practices like CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and DBT skills, while also incorporating practical tools clients can use in their everyday lives. I don’t believe therapy should stay in the session—my goal is for clients to walk away with insight, language for their experiences, and skills they can apply immediately. My approach is collaborative and empowering, helping clients move from survival mode into a place of clarity, confidence, and intentional living.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready—whether fully or just beginning—to explore themselves more deeply and make meaningful change in their life. I am best positioned to serve individuals, couples, and families who are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm, particularly those who may feel stuck, unheard, or disconnected from their sense of identity. I work especially well with youth and adults who have experienced adversity, including those involved in systems such as child welfare or probation, and who are seeking a safe space to process their experiences. Many of my clients come in with a desire to improve communication, build healthier relationships, regulate their emotions, and better understand how their past is impacting their present. I also support clients who value a culturally responsive and, when desired, faith-integrated approach to therapy. My ideal clients are open to reflection, skill-building, and growth—even if they are unsure where to start—and are willing to engage in the process of healing, one step at a time.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with several years of experience utilizing trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment methods in both clinical and community-based settings. My approach integrates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), depending on the needs of the individual, family, or group. In my practice, I use these treatment methods to help clients identify and understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. For example, through CBT, I support clients in recognizing unhelpful thought patterns and developing healthier coping strategies. Using Narrative Therapy, I help individuals re-author their stories, particularly those impacted by trauma, allowing them to separate themselves from their experiences and reclaim their sense of identity. I also incorporate DBT skills, such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness (including tools like DEAR MAN), especially when working with youth and clients experiencing high emotional intensity or relational challenges. My work is deeply rooted in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive framework. I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I often incorporate psychoeducation, social-emotional learning tools (such as the Feeling Wheel), and practical skill-building exercises to ensure that clients can apply what they learn in real-life situations. Overall, my goal is to meet clients where they are, build on their strengths, and support them in developing insight, resilience, and meaningful change in their lives.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy is an approach that integrates a client’s spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process. In my practice, I create space for clients to draw on their faith as a source of strength, incorporating prayer, scripture, and reflection when appropriate. I support clients in aligning their healing journey with their spiritual identity, helping them find meaning, hope, and restoration through both clinical tools and their relationship with God.

Narrative

My narrative work in therapy focuses on helping clients explore and reshape the stories they tell about themselves, especially those shaped by trauma, loss, or adversity. I support clients in separating their identity from their experiences, allowing them to challenge limiting beliefs and reclaim their voice. Through this process, clients begin to author new, empowering narratives that reflect their resilience, strengths, and values, creating space for healing and growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I also incorporate DBT skills, such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness (including tools like DEAR MAN), especially when working with youth and clients experiencing high emotional intensity or relational challenges.
