What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Most people I treat have anxiety, panic, depression, lack of motivation, PTSD, trauma history, fear or abandonment, rejection, being seen as a fraud, a failure, and not feeling worthy or good enough. Self-regulation helps reduce and stop many of these beliefs and feelings. If you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, panic, fear, worry and concern, or suicidal ideations (FLIGHT). Feeling frustration, irritation, anger, rage, homicidal ideations (FIGHT) Felling Helplessness, Depression, Disassociation, numbness, shame, shut-down, hopelessness, prepared for death, trapped (FREEZE) These symptoms are often indicators your body is not self-regulated and your survival response has been activated. I know that by becoming a "wet noodle in your muscle body" you will train yourself to deactivate your survival response in situation in which you are not in actual danger. The actual danger would be getting chased by a lioness!! Then let's begin emotional processing throughout our time together in a regulated body so that we can make real progress.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize classical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, and sprinkle in some somatic, solution-focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strengths based approaches as well. I tend to focus on self regulation throughout treatment. The techniques of self regulation alone can often resolve many issues people are facing at their core level simply by using these techniques on a regular basis. IMPORTANT!! Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a good listener. I am empathetic and compassionate. My approach is honest and direct. I like to use a lot of visual resources (sent via email) so that members have resources to watch or listen to when they might be having a hard day or to just add want to add more tools to their tool belt. The majority of my clients are struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, anxiety attacks, grief, loss, depression, PTSD, perfectionism, procrastination, self-esteem, trauma, lack of motivation, not feeling good enough, fear of abandonment or rejection, and avoidance of painful or uncomfortable emotions.
