New to Grow
Hello, and welcome. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with women ages 18 and older through individual therapy. I provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges and personal growth. I work with concerns including anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, life transitions, burnout, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, psychoeducation, and EMDR. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical, helping clients gain insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. I also value authenticity and connection in the therapeutic relationship. While therapy often involves deep emotional work, sessions can also include humor, warmth, and moments of lightness along the way.
During our first session, you can expect a supportive, calm, and nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to share at your own pace. We will spend time discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and the goals you hope to work toward in counseling. The first session is also an opportunity for us to begin building a therapeutic connection and determine whether the relationship feels like a good fit for your needs. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so my approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping you feel comfortable, supported, and heard. You can also expect to learn more about how I work and the approaches I use, including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR when appropriate. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, exploring coping strategies, and creating a path toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely understood. I value building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, authenticity, compassion, and collaboration, while also creating space for humor and lightness when appropriate. I take an individualized and holistic approach to therapy, recognizing that each client’s experiences, needs, and goals are unique. I integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR to help clients develop insight, improve coping skills, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful change. Clients often appreciate my balance of empathy and practicality. I strive to help clients not only feel emotionally supported but also leave sessions with increased self-awareness, useful tools, and a clearer sense of direction. My goal is to help clients build resilience, strengthen confidence, and move toward lasting emotional wellness and personal growth.
I work best with women ages 18 and older who are seeking individual therapy and are motivated to better understand themselves, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful change in their lives. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, burnout, self-esteem concerns, or feelings of being emotionally overwhelmed or stuck. I am especially well positioned to support clients who have a growth mindset or are open to developing one—individuals who may be ready to increase self-awareness, learn healthier coping strategies, process difficult experiences, and move toward greater balance and fulfillment. My ideal clients are often looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can explore patterns, build resilience, strengthen boundaries, and reconnect with their values and sense of self. While therapy can involve deep and meaningful work, sessions can also include humor, authenticity, and moments of lightness as part of the healing process. I use a collaborative and compassionate approach that integrates evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR. Together, we work toward practical tools, emotional healing, and lasting personal growth at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma responses, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. In my practice, I use CBT in a collaborative and practical way, helping clients build awareness of how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have experience using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility, increase self-awareness, and build healthier relationships with difficult thoughts and emotions. In my practice, I use ACT to support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, and self-critical thinking patterns.
Motivational Interviewing
I have experience using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation for change, and increase confidence in their ability to reach personal goals. In my practice, I use MI with clients navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, behavioral changes, relationship concerns, health-related goals, and recovery-oriented work. I use a collaborative, client-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, active listening, and respect for each client’s autonomy.
EMDR
I have experience using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce trauma-related symptoms, and develop healthier emotional responses and beliefs about themselves. In my practice, I use EMDR with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, grief, adverse life experiences, stress-related symptoms, and negative self-beliefs that continue to impact daily functioning and relationships.
