With over 16 years of experience as a dedicated social worker, I have served 9 years in nursing facilities and the past 7 years as a transplant social worker. Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting individuals and families through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. In nursing facilities, I provided compassionate care and advocacy for elderly residents, helping them navigate the challenges of aging, loss, and chronic medical conditions. As a transplant social worker, I have guided patients through the complex emotional and logistical journey of organ transplantation, offering critical support around grief, depression, anxiety, and the impact of chronic illness. My work has consistently focused on empowering clients, promoting emotional resilience, and improving their overall quality of life during difficult times.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we take the time to build a foundation of trust and understanding by exploring your personal history and what brings you to therapy. I create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can share at your own pace, discussing important aspects of your background, life experiences, and any current challenges you're facing. We’ll talk about your goals for therapy and what you hope to focus on during our time together, whether it's managing grief, easing symptoms of depression or anxiety, coping with a chronic illness, or simply finding more balance and peace in your life. This initial conversation helps me gain a holistic view of who you are, so we can collaboratively create a plan that’s meaningful and tailored to your unique needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My unique background of working extensively with clients in both nursing facilities and transplant settings has given me deep insight into the complex emotional, physical, and psychological challenges individuals face during life-altering experiences. Through my time in nursing facilities, I supported older adults and their families through aging, end-of-life care, and chronic health issues, developing a strong foundation in compassionate, patient-centered support. As a transplant social worker, it further strengthened my ability to guide individuals through intense emotional journeys, including medical trauma, waiting periods, surgical recovery, and long-term adjustment to chronic illness. These experiences have equipped me with the empathy, resilience, and clinical skills to help clients navigate grief, depression, anxiety, and health-related stress with sensitivity and understanding. I bring a calm, informed, and practical approach to care that supports clients wherever they are in their journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is navigating the emotional and psychological challenges that come with grief, depression, anxiety, or chronic illness and is open to receiving support in a safe, nonjudgmental space. This individual may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to cope with their emotions, and is seeking guidance to better understand and manage their experiences. Whether they are dealing with the loss of a loved one, the weight of long-term illness, or persistent feelings of sadness and worry, they are ready to take the first step toward healing and personal growth. I work best with clients who are willing to engage in honest conversation, explore their inner world, and actively participate in developing tools and strategies to improve their emotional well-being and quality of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help my clients navigate their daily struggles and address the impact of their personal histories. By identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, we work together to reframe unhelpful beliefs that often stem from past trauma or difficult life experiences. I guide clients in developing healthier coping strategies, promoting emotional regulation, and setting realistic goals to manage stressors more effectively. My goal is to help clients begin to notice meaningful changes in their thinking and behavior, empowering them to take greater control over their lives and build resilience for the future.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing (MI) to support my clients in challenging negative thoughts and empowering themselves to make lasting changes in their lives. Through a collaborative and nonjudgmental approach, I help clients explore their own reasons for change, clarify their values, and resolve ambivalence that may be holding them back. By actively listening and reflecting their thoughts and feelings, I guide them toward recognizing their strengths and building confidence in their ability to make positive choices. This process fosters intrinsic motivation and encourages clients to take meaningful steps toward their goals, ultimately leading to greater self-efficacy and long-term personal growth.

Strength-Based

I help my clients from a strengths-based perspective by focusing on the existing skills, qualities, and resources they already possess. Rather than centering on problems or deficits, I work collaboratively with clients to identify and amplify their strengths, resilience, and past successes. This approach empowers clients to recognize their own capacity for growth and change, fostering a sense of confidence and self-worth. By building on what is already working in their lives, clients are better equipped to overcome challenges, set meaningful goals, and create sustainable, positive change in both their personal and professional lives.
