About me

Hi, I’m Christina. As an LCSW with 25 years of experience, I’ve learned two things: human beings are incredibly resilient, and absolutely nobody has it entirely figured out. My approach is a mix of deep compassion, straight-shooting honesty, and a healthy dose of humor—because if we can't laugh at the chaos of life sometimes, what are we even doing? I’ve heard almost everything, I don't shock easily, and I leave the preachy, stuffy therapist vibes at the door. Ultimately, I’m just a human who loves helping other humans untangle the messy, beautiful parts of life without any judgment. Think of me as a guide with a massive toolkit, a finely tuned intuition, and a genuine appreciation for your unique story. I look forward to meeting and working with you!"

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Let’s demystify the first session right out of the gate: there is no test, there is no right way to do therapy, and I promise I’m not analyzing your childhood based on how you sit in your chair. Our first hour together is all about laying the foundation. We’ll look at the big picture of what’s going on in your life right now and where you feel stuck. My main goal is to make sure you feel completely safe, comfortable, and zero percent judged. We’ll laugh a little, we might unpack a few heavy things, and we’ll figure out a game plan together. You’re the expert on your life; I’m just here to help you navigate it.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What I bring to our sessions: An expert ability to spot the invisible patterns that keep you stuck. When you’ve been doing this for 25 years, you develop a keen eye for how past narratives, systemic pressures, and survival strategies weave into your present-day struggles. I bring a deeply cultivated toolset that allows us to gently unearth the root causes of your distress, rather than just putting a temporary band-aid on your symptoms. Why my approach stands out: My approach stands out because it is entirely bespoke. I’ve spent two and a half decades mastering a wide variety of therapeutic modalities: CBT, DBT, Brainspotting, Trauma Informed Therapy, Internal Family Systems, & ACT, which means I don't force you into a cookie-cutter framework. Instead, I fluidly adapt my toolkit to fit your unique mind, pacing, and history. It's a seamless blend of deep, soulful reflection and structured, empowering forward momentum.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

With over 20 years of clinical experience across the lifespan (ages 3–60), I provide a deeply grounded, comprehensive approach to mental and somatic well-being. My practice is built around four core areas of expertise: Trauma, PTSD, & Neurodivergence: I specialize in releasing deep-seated trauma and managing anxiety and depression using an advanced toolkit of Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and CBT. I also provide practical ADHD coaching and specialized social skills support for Autistic clients. The Mind-Body Connection & Chronic Illness: I help clients understand how trauma and chronic stress physically alter the nervous system and blood-brain barrier. I specialize in the psychological toll of Autoimmune Disorders and complex men's and women's health issues, including PCOS and PMDD. Relational & Family Healing: Grounded in advanced training in Attachment Styles, the Gottman Method, and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), I guide couples and families through conflict, infidelity, life transitions, and premarital counseling, breaking old generational blueprints. Parenting & Vulnerable Transitions: For two decades, I have partnered with parents navigating the unique complexities of special needs parenting (ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, and physical disabilities), as well as the profound transitions of pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum life. My foundations also include extensive work with substance use recovery and childhood trauma survivors. Whether you are looking to untangle the physical toll of stress, heal a relational rupture, or find a grounded path through neurodivergence, I bring two decades of clinical wisdom and cutting-edge training to help you heal.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

-Access the Deep Brain: Reaches the subcortical brain—where trauma, emotional stress, and physical tension are deeply held—going beyond the limits of traditional talk therapy. -Harness the Visual Field: Uses your natural eye positions ("where you look affects how you feel") to locate, process, and completely release deep-seated emotional blind spots. -Bypass the Analytical Mind: Allows you to process heavy emotions and trauma without needing to endlessly retell the story or overanalyze the details. -Reduce Physical & Emotional Activation: Unwinds the physical tension, anxiety, and stress stuck in your nervous system, leading to rapid and noticeable relief. -Support Natural Healing: Taps into your brain's inherent, self-regulating capacity to safely process distress at your own unique pace. -Create Lasting Neurobiological Change: Rewires how your brain reacts to old triggers, transforming deep-seated trauma into quiet resilience and a true sense of resolution.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

-Identify Unhelpful Thinking Patterns: Uncover and track the automatic, negative thoughts (like all-or-nothing thinking or catastrophic worrying) that drive your distress. -Understand the Thought-Emotion Connection: Learn exactly how your thoughts influence how you feel and, ultimately, how you behave. -Challenge and Frame Core Beliefs: Gain practical tools to test the accuracy of self-critical thoughts and replace them with more balanced, flexible perspectives. -Break Cycles of Avoidance: Face fears and anxiety step-by-step using actionable behavioral strategies that build real-world confidence. -Develop Active Problem-Solving Skills: Shift away from feeling overwhelmed or stuck and focus on practical, solution-oriented strategies for daily life. -Build a Practical Toolkit: Walk away with concrete, evidence-based coping skills that you can independently practice and use long after therapy ends.

Attachment-based

-Uncover Relationship Blueprints: Identify the automatic, often unconscious patterns formed in early childhood that dictate how you show up in your current adult relationships. -Understand Emotional Triggers: Learn exactly why certain relationship dynamics trigger intense anxiety, a strong urge to pull away, or a fear of abandonment. -Shift from Reactive to Secure: Move away from old, defensive survival strategies (like hyper-vigilance or emotional shutting down) and cultivate a secure, steady sense of self. -Communicate Needs with Clarity: Develop the skills to clearly articulate your emotional needs, set healthy boundaries, and handle relationship conflict without fear of rupture. -Break Generational Cycles: Heal the foundational wounds that lead to repeating the same frustrating relationship dynamics, choosing partners who cannot meet your needs, or getting stuck in anxious-avoidant loops. -Foster Deep, Safe Connections: Learn how to tolerate vulnerability, build emotional intimacy, and co-create relationships rooted in mutual trust, safety, and respect.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

-Stay Grounded: Provides practical tools to remain centered and steady during intense emotional activation. -Reduce Avoidance & Build Resilience: Supports deep, lasting change by increasing your internal resilience and reducing the urge to avoid difficult feelings. -Tame Anxious & Critical Thoughts: Helps you detach from and feel less controlled by anxious or self-critical inner dialogues. -Boost Regulation & Distress Tolerance: Strengthens your ability to manage overwhelming emotions and navigate crises effectively. -Increase Self-Compassion: Fosters a gentler, more compassionate relationship with yourself. -Value-Driven Decision Making: Empowers you to make choices based on your deeply held values rather than letting fear run the show. -Improve Relationships: Builds the foundational skills needed to cultivate healthier, more meaningful connections. -Align Actions with Your Goals: Creates lasting behavioral changes that directly support the life you actually want to live.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

-Enhance Emotional Awareness: Increase awareness of your emotions and deeply understand the specific triggers behind them. -Develop Healthy Coping Strategies: Build constructive tools to manage overwhelming emotions without relying on unhealthy behaviors. -Build Distress Tolerance: Learn proven skills to navigate crises calmly and effectively without making difficult situations worse. -Practice Mindfulness: Cultivate present-moment awareness to stay grounded and significantly reduce automatic emotional reactivity. -Strengthen Emotion Regulation: Master the skills needed to influence, understand, and balance your emotional responses. -Improve Interpersonal Effectiveness: Learn to set clear boundaries, effectively ask for your needs to be met, and confidently manage conflict. -Increase Cognitive Flexibility: Reduce rigid, all-or-nothing thinking patterns by learning to balance acceptance with active change. -Foster Problem-Solving Skills: Develop practical decision-making strategies that support healthier, more intentional life choices.
