Hey there! Nice to meet you. I have over 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including: nonprofit organizations, schools, emergency rooms, and hospitals. I work with children, adolescents teenagers, adults, couples, and families. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, chronic stress, postpartum depression/anxiety, trauma, ADHD, family issues, and self esteem concerns.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session you get to tell me all about you. You are your best historian and know yourself better than anyone else. You can fill me in on as much or as little as you are comfortable sharing. We will work towards establishing trust and a therapeutic relationship that will set the foundation for our work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe that I am very person centered and make treatment about you. I do my best to not tell the client what to do but to guide you in making your own choices. I try to be a great listener and get a good picture of your life and contributing factors to your current situation. I know that therapy is not a cookie cutter approach and I tailor my approach to what will work best for you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who is looking to make a change in their life-big or small. I enjoy seeing client's making progress, even tiny steps, and working towards achieving their goals and dreams. I understand that life throws us many barriers that get in the way of reaching our goals, but we can work on conquering those barriers together.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to help client's become aware of unhealthy thought patterns and change these patterns into healthier thoughts to address their problematic behaviors.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing techniques to assist client's with identifying their readiness change certain behaviors and assist them with developing a plan for change.
Strength-Based
I work with client's to see how their existing strengths can help them reach their therapeutic goals. I also work with client's on establishing new strengths to build self esteem and enhance quality of life.
Trauma Informed Care
I understand that trauma can come in all different shapes and sizes and impacts individuals differently. I work to provide a safe space for client's to process and identify how trauma has impacted them over time.
