Laura Glass
Hello! My name is Laura Glass and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I specialize in burn out, anxiety and depression with a focus on middle aged and geriatric populations.
After a decade of working in everything from busy hospitals to quiet clinics, I’ve learned that while mental health is complex, the path to healing starts with being truly seen.
***Please note at this time I am unable to prescribe controlled medications via tele health and I do not routinely use benzodiazepines in my practice***
First session
During our initial 60-minute intake, we will conduct a deep-dive exploration of your journey so far. You can expect: -A Thorough History: We will walk through your medical and psychiatric background in detail. I want to understand how your physical health, genetics, and past experiences intersect with your current wellbeing. -A "Whole-Person" Perspective: We’ll discuss your lifestyle, your stressors, and your history of trauma. -A Shared Foundation: This session is about building trust. While I bring the scientific expertise, you are the expert on your own life. -A Clear Path Forward: By the end of our hour—we will have the beginnings of a personalized, evidence-based plan designed to help you move forward. ***Please note at this time, I do not prescribe controlled substances via telehealth***
Strengths
I believe that effective psychiatric care requires a delicate balance: a warm, friendly environment where you feel seen. My approach is all-encompassing. I don't just look at a list of symptoms; but will look at your history, your environment, and your goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use elements of CBT to challenge negative thinking patterns to establish new coping strategies for stress, depressive symptoms and managing anxiety.
