To continue improving your health and wellness, it is also important to acknowledge how physical, emotional, social, and cultural factors play a role in your presenting concerns. As your psychologist, I look forward to establishing an effective therapeutic relationship and employing evidence-based practices to help you develop skills to cope with thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and sensations that get in the way of your functioning and quality of life. I am originally from Peru, bilingual in Spanish and English and my personal background and training have prepared me to be culturally responsive to your needs. I will prioritize your lived experience and how these identities and encounters shape your presenting concerns and therapeutic goals. I look forward to working together! First session
After reviewing the consent form, limits of confidentiality, and treatment agreements, the rest of the session will be spent exploring what brought you into therapy, performing an initial intake assessment, and setting your treatment goals. It is possible that the assessment period may span a couple of sessions to ensure that we create a tailored and collaborative treatment plan.
Strengths
I have extensive experience delivering non-pharmacological treatments for chronic illness management. I specialize in working with individuals living with chronic pain, headaches, as well as insomnia. In addition, I have helped many individuals develop skills and new habits to support their weight management, and smoking cessation, as well as managing life stressors.
