Hi! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Gallaudet University. I am fluent in American Sign Language. I would describe my own as warm, caring, non-judgmental, compassionate, sensitive, respectful, intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced and committed. I’ve been using CBT in my practice. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I want to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings. I will explain my approach to therapy and what you can expect in working with you. I will ask about your background, including their family history, relationships, and experiences. We will work together to identify your goals for therapy and how you want to feel or function differently. I will also discuss the limits of confidentiality and other important aspects of the therapeutic relationship. You are welcome to ask any questions about the therapy process and my approach to therapy. In addition, the first session is an opportunity for us to start building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. At every session, we go over a brief summary of the session's key points, discuss progress made, and acknowledge any challenges or breakthroughs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I appreciate and affirm things about what you are experiencing or experienced. I am open-minded and validate your emotions and experiences.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a lot of experience in working with a variety of ages- from school ages through adulthood. My goal is to support clients to be the best version of themselves as well as finding contentment and happiness in their lives. I work with people who want to solve problems so they are able to move forward. Whether the obstacle is in life or work, I help them get un-stuck.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I create a space of safety and trust, encouraging an authentic therapeutic relationship to naturally develop. I will provide a space for you to navigate the process of changing unhelpful thoughts and developing tools that will allow you to manage the day to day stress of everyday living. Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have been working with Solution Focused Therapy for 16 years. The goal is an emphasis on addressing current issues and developing coping tools. This is to promote change by using direct techniques to address the issues.
