About me

I am honored to report that I have recently earned Board Certification in DBT (DBT-LBC). Currently I am one of only six clinicians in the State of Georgia. I have honed my practice of DBT and implemented it to assist my clients not only to tolerate, control, and manage emotions, but also change the oftentimes problematic behavior that follows. It has been personally rewarding to watch my clients shift their perspective about themselves and their environment. I learned unexpectedly how much it would impact my own life. I use DBT everyday. How does Board Certification distinguish me from others: DBT-Informed means knows some of the language. DBT-trained means speaks the language well. Linehan Board Certified (DBT-LBC) means fluent, tested and licensed to apply it properly.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My client's leave the first session with the understanding that I have the skills, training and knowledge to assist them on their journey to a life worth living. They feel understood and hopeful that they will be guided and assisted in decreasing their suffering caused by intense emotions and impulsive behaviors.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been described as an open, accepting and genuine clinician. I am both warm, empathic and validating, but also straight forward and honest. My approach is to validate and understand your problems and also assist you in understanding how to solve them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am Board Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT). This treatment was originally developed to treat persons with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality disorder. While DBT is very effective treatment this diagnosis, it is also very effective at treating persons with difficulty controlling emotions, thoughts and behaviors. It an evidence based treatment (research based for its efficacy). DBT is the lens through which I provide treatment to my clients.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use dialectical behavior therapy to assist client's in tolerating intense emotions to decrease impulsive behaviors, control and manage emotions and behaviors. This is achieved through completing a weekly diary card to track intensity of emotions and problematic behaviors along with DBT skills training.
