Hello! My name is Rana and I have over a decade of working with children (ages 6+) and adults. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life adjustments, ADHD, parent training, and trauma. I enjoy getting to know each client on an individual level. I aim to create a warm, compassionate, and safe space for healing. Some treatment approaches I offer are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first appointment, you'll have the opportunity to share your story and talk about what you hope to achieve in therapy. My approach is grounded in openness, honesty, and humor. We will work together to apply your unique strengths in overcoming obstacles and achieving your personal wellness goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My best strengths as a therapist include offering a non-judgmental attitude, empathy, and validation. Everyone's story and suffering is unique. I don't compare or give unsolicited advice. My goal is to create a safe space, provide active listening, and gently challenge and guide you towards optimal well-being.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals feeling overwhelmed with day to day life stressors, such as relationships issues, career challenges, or parenting stress. I also specialize in working with individuals who have a history of trauma or abuse. My aim is to empower you to develop positive self-esteem and live a fulfilling and meaningful life in spite of all the inevitable challenges.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

With an ACT approach, we focus on developing acceptance of reality and what is, rather than what could or should be. The aim is to help individuals live a meaningful life in accordance with their values, despite life's challenges and stressors.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

A CBT approach is focused on how much our thoughts are connected to our emotions and behavior. Treatment focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more realistic and positive thinking. Learning to challenge and reframe thought processes can directly impact the way we feel and react to situations and events.

Trauma Informed Care

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a specific eye-movement based therapy used to treat trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, phobias, and other distressing memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, eye movements are used to help individuals visually reprocess and replace negative memories with more positive ones. The ART motto is "keep the facts, lose the pain" as you become less sensitive to previously distressing memories.
