Hey hey, I'm Lex! I am a trauma-informed therapist who is passionate about helping adults heal from complex trauma, navigate life transitions, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful and sustainable ways. My work is rooted in a warm, collaborative, and neurodivergent-affirming approach, with specialties in ADHD, OCD, Autism, perinatal and maternal mental health, and caregiver support. I use EMDR Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to support emotional regulation, trauma processing, and lasting growth. My goal is to help every client see how important and valuable they truly are!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I like to create space for clients to ask questions as we begin building rapport and getting to know one another. I lead with curiosity and will ask thoughtful questions to gain a fuller understanding of your experiences, needs, and goals for therapy. It’s completely okay if you don’t know how to answer everything right away, or if you feel shy, nervous, or unsure in the beginning. Our first 1–3 sessions are typically focused on history-taking, building trust, and helping you feel more comfortable in this new therapeutic space. But don't worry! I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and humor into the room whenever appropriate, helping clients feel safe, supported, and at ease.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out most about my therapeutic approach is the balance of depth, warmth, and authenticity I bring into the therapy space. I believe healing happens best when clients feel genuinely safe, understood, and accepted—not judged, rushed, or pressured to have it all figured out. My approach is collaborative and neurodivergent-affirming, meaning I work with your unique brain, lived experiences, and nervous system rather than against them. It's hard to implement effective coping skills when we lack self-compassion. This is something I understand very well and work hard to help my client's learn to prioritize.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults navigating the lasting impact of complex trauma, especially those who have spent much of their lives feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in survival mode. Many of my clients are high-functioning caregivers, parents, professionals, or deeply sensitive individuals who are used to prioritizing everyone else’s needs while struggling to extend the same compassion to themselves.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment method I use to help client's re-process distressing experiences and traumatic memories from the past to promote a regulated, calm, and healed nervous system in their day to day life. I use EMDR to promote more adaptive coping skills, nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and the fosturing of balanced and fulfilling relationships in my client's lives. A more healed and calm nervous system can enhance our quality of life, and resolve chronic emotional distress. This is especially true if we suffer from complex trauma.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a treatment method that I am certified in. DBT is a treatment form that I use to equip my clients with tangible skills they can use during and in-between sessions. These skills are based in the core DBT modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Anyone can benefits from DBT therapy and skills, though I most often use DBT with my clients who are struggling with self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideations or have a history of attempts, struggle with low self-esteem, experience chronic interpersonal relationship instability, and are suffering from abandonment or attachment trauma. DBT is all about balancing the dialects (two things that can be true at once) between self-change and compassionate self-acceptance!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a treatment method I have used to help my clients cultivate awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while learning how they are each interconnected. Helping my clients identify the function of their emotions and thoughts has been key to supporting their journey toward self-love, acceptance, and undoing shame.
