My therapeutic approach stems from a person centered lens that views all with a fundamental respect and a belief that we carry strengths from our unique histories. I welcome all individuals learn how to cope with the curve balls that life throws. My hope is that through collaboration, commitment, and connection in therapy, we will develop a safe path for clarity.
Our first session would include an assessment that would facilitate our ability to decide fit for therapeutic collaboration.
Clients connected to my therapeutic style have been individuals navigating experiences of identity, relationships, and a sense of "otherness". My identity as a Guatemalan queer woman has encouraged me to view life's problems through a perspective that is inclusive of all systems in action rather than isolated events.
I've worked with individuals identifying as Latin(x)(e), LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent to manage stressors utilizing CBT, trauma informed care, and a strengths based approach. My past experience includes community and private mental health settings working with individuals experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, and stressful life circumstances.
I utilize CBT to examine the interactions between our outside and inner worlds. Once we can understand how perceptions impact our mood and behavior, we can learn how to create more helpful associations.
