New to Grow
A better life is here for you. I'm Lorelei, a licensed therapist and EMDR specialist who helps individuals and couples get unstuck and build meaningful lives. Anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, self-doubt, relationship struggles — these don't have to define you. Neither does that quiet feeling of drifting through life without purpose or direction. Therapy with me is a safe space where your truth is heard. That alone can be healing. I listen deeply and give you practical tools that actually work. You'll leave sessions feeling grounded, clearer, and excited about what's ahead. You deserve the full life you were meant to live. In couples work, I help you escape the roommates syndrome and actually enjoy each other again. There was a reason you chose each other — sometimes you just need help finding your way back. You may even have mixed feelings about whether you should stay. Let's explore that together. I also offer a pre-marital program for couples who want to start right. Life can feel heavy, lonely, and confusing — even when it looks fine from the outside. If you're stuck, anxious, constantly stressed, or just going through the motions, I want you to know that's not the whole story of who you are. You don't have to figure this out alone, and you don't have to stay here. Therapy takes courage, but it works. Let's talk.
To begin, I listen and ask questions to understand. I use a variety of therapies and determine what would help you most, primarily using CBT, EMDR, and Person Centered. With couples, using the Developmental Model, I help you see how your past and your behavior patterns are affecting your relationship and what can be better. Relationships are truly an arena for growth. When you make your first appointment, you will be sent documents and this will include a form to specify how you'd like to pay. Typically, clients keep a credit card on file and your obligation will depend on your insurance. I am in network with several insurance companies and accept private pay. Once you fill out the intake forms, they are sent back to me and Grow Therapy. This way, I have a little information about you and what you're looking for before your first session.
I had other careers in my life but realized this one is home. Not only is it fascinating, I truly care about my clients. Degrees and trainings are only part of the story. I'm genuinely curious about you and want you to thrive. The wisdom that the years bring has often helped my clients too. I have had many experiences and roles - daughter, mother, wife, ex-spouse, friend and more and have learned from all of them. I believe you can too. My philosophy is this - I believe that honest communication and trust between us are essential. It's clear that people feel most alive when they're living authentically and aligned with their values. If you're feeling stuck or like an imposter in your own life just going through the motions, you don't have to stay there. My goal is to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself. Therapy works.
I have truly enjoyed all sorts of clients of all ages and strive to bring some benefit to each. Many of my clients are in their 20's and 30's. If asked though, perhaps I am best positioned to serve females 40+ who are motivated and open to growing. She might be juggling a lot of roles and struggling with mild depression, anxiety, marital dissatisfaction, parenting issues and/or caregiving issues. Or she might be single and dealing with lingering divorce issues and/or dating. I've been all these places so can relate. I also enjoy couples who are wanting to make changes in their marriage.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This treatment helps my clients recognize the link between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Sometimes their thoughts are seen as truths when they aren't and assumptions are made that don't help them.
Couples Counseling
I see many couples and use the Developmental Model of treatment. Most people really are doing their best with each other and want things to work. Once they can see their patterns of behavior and where they came from, they can see themselves and their partner differently.
EMDR
I have seen EMDR be very effective with my clients who have experienced trauma. I use it for abuse, accidents, bullying - many ways.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Simple, deep listening to understand someone in a nonjudgmental environment can bring out the client's capacity to heal, grow, and make their own decisions. Being heard and accepted as you are is extremely affirming and can work wonders!
