Latrice Waddell, MSN
Have you found yourself pondering the following questions recently on your journey to healing? -How can I achieve well-being despite my psychiatric condition? -How can I transform my outlook on life? -How can I take control of my life? -How can I let go of fear and eliminate barriers to achieving mental stability? -What is the meaning of my life? -How can I stand in my power and true authenticity? -What can I do to support my mental health? If you answered "Yes" to one of the following questions and desire to have control over the way you feel, I am here to assist! I have been providing psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy services to adults (18-70) for greater than 10 years. My mission is to ensure individuals with mental illness voice is heard, thus empowering them to evolve to their highest potential.
First session
During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and compassionate space where they are invited to share their story, concerns, and desired outcomes at their own pace. The provider will use understanding, reflective listening, and supportive guidance to help clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable beginning the healing process.
Strengths
Whether you desire medication management services or holistic modalities to meet your mental health needs, I am here to lend a compassionate ear and an open heart to ensure your overall well-being is achieved. "Wholeness is not achieved by cutting off a portion of one's being, but by integration of the contraries."-Carl Jung
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to take an active role in their healing journey. They may be seeking support through life transitions, emotional challenges, stress, or patterns that no longer serve them, and they are open to exploring new ways of understanding themselves and their experiences. This client values a safe, collaborative space where they feel encouraged, respected, and empowered. They are open to traditional (medication management) and complementary (holistic) approaches that support the mind, body, and spirit, and they are willing to engage in the process with curiosity, honesty, and a desire for meaningful growth.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
The provider uses mindfulness-based therapy to help clients slow down, become more aware of their thoughts and emotions, and build a deeper connection with the present moment. In practice, this may include guided reflection, grounding techniques, breathing exercises, body awareness, and gentle exploration of patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or disconnection. The goal is not to judge or push away difficult experiences, but to help clients notice them with compassion, curiosity, and greater understanding. Through mindfulness-based work, clients are supported in developing practical tools they can use both in and outside of sessions. Over time, this approach can help clients respond to challenges with more clarity, self-compassion, and intention, rather than reacting from old patterns or automatic responses.
Supportive
Supportive therapy will be provided through a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and client-centered approach that helps clients feel heard, understood, and respected. The provider will offer a safe space for clients to process their experiences, explore emotions, identify strengths, and work through challenges at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. Through active listening, encouragement, reflection, and practical coping strategies, the provider will help clients build confidence, increase self-awareness, and feel more empowered in their healing journey.
