First session
The first session is primarily an intake focused on getting to know you, building rapport , and discussing what brought you to therapy, as well as your past history.
Strengths
I use a compassionate client centered approach which emphasizes empathy, positive regard. and congruence between the therapist and the client.
Ideal clients
I work well with clients who are motivated to participate fully in treatment and appreciate a proactive approach. I consider myself an active colloborative partner who assigns between sessions homework and we will work as a team to understand your struggles while building active practical tools to address your issues. I also find I do well with clients who appreciate a healthy dose of humor and gentle direction along the way.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients examine the relationship between negative thoughts patterns and behaviors. I focus on the present teaching individuals to identify, challenge and replace distorted thinking with healthier realistic beliefs.
Strength-Based
I offer a positive client centered approach focusing on and individuals strenghts, resilience and resources. rather than deficits and weaknesses.
Psychoeducation
I focus on teaching clients with mental health issues about the nature of the condition, treatment options and coping skils
