I believe your past doesn't have to define your future. My practice is rooted in my experience supporting survivors of violence and displaced communities, combined with my own identity as a mixed-race Japanese-American. I specialize in parts work (IFS) and trauma-informed care to help you navigate life's stuck points, from workplace burnout to deep-seated emotional wounds. Whether you are navigating a complex cultural transition or simply trying to find balance in a busy world, I’m here to help you reconnect with your authentic self and find the freedom to choose a new path.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a collaborative space where your comfort and clarity are the priority. We will begin with a conversational intake to gather the threads of your history, current challenges, and the cultural context that shapes your world. Together, we will identify the specific goals and themes you’d like to prioritize. You will have plenty of space to ask questions about my approach, ensuring our work feels like a true partnership from day one.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I combine deep, evidence-based trauma healing with my lived understanding of complex cultural identities. As a Level 2 IFS-trained therapist with a background in refugee resettlement and domestic violence advocacy, I offer a specialized roadmap for navigating the parts of you that feel stuck, burdened, or in-between worlds. My identity as a mixed-race Japanese-American allows me to bring profound cultural humility to our work, ensuring that your heritage and unique life roles are central to your healing. By combining the soulfulness of Internal Family Systems with the practical, goal-oriented nature of my EAP experience, I help my clients move from a state of constant survival to one of authentic internal harmony and clear-headed resilience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is often someone navigating the intersection of professional life, complex cultural identity, and the lingering echoes of past trauma. You may identify as a high-achiever, a survivor, or someone who feels in-between different cultures and roles. Whether you are struggling with the stuck points of PTSD, the exhaustion of workplace burnout, or an inner critic that never rests, you are likely looking for more than just a place to vent. You are seeking a therapist who honors your unique heritage and resilience while providing a clear, trauma-informed roadmap for healing. Our work is a fit if you are ready to move from simply managing your symptoms to truly understanding the parts of yourself that feel overwhelmed or protective. Together, we will bridge the gap between your past experiences and your future goals, using Internal Family Systems and evidence-based tools to restore your internal harmony, clarity, and the freedom to choose a life that feels authentically yours.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

For longer term more in depth therapy I use the IFS model, which explores the various patterns (parts) that make up your internal world. I help clients identify the protective roles their anxiety, depression, or perfectionism may be playing and guide them in healing the underlying wounds these parts are guarding. By accessing your core Self, our innate source of wisdom and compassion, we work together to restore internal balance and create lasting change from the inside out.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

For those looking for shorter term therapy, especially those using EAP benefits, I specialize in brief, goal-oriented therapy for professionals facing workplace burnout, high-stakes transitions, and communication hurdles. Using a Solutions-Focused framework, I help you move past the bumps in the road by identifying actionable strategies starting in our first session. My goal is to help you regain your edge and restore your work-life balance through a collaborative, results-driven process that respects your time and your professional goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well to teach skills, coping mechanisms and emotional regulation. We identify the thought loops that keep you stuck in cycles of anxiety or low mood. By examining the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we develop practical strategies to challenge unhelpful patterns and create more balanced, realistic perspectives.
