As a counselor, I strive to build relationships where my clients feel connected and fully accepted in a safe and compassionate environment. I enjoy working from a collaborative, strengths-based approach; assisting and supporting my clients to be change agent of their own lives. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship challenges, self-esteem, trauma, and issues relating to race, culture, gender and religion. In working alongside my clients, I utilize interventions to facilitate my client’s discovery of their own strengths, resilience, and power as they heal.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a very relaxing and welcoming intake session. I know this can be a very stressful experience, but my warmth and kindness hopefully makes clients want to share.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I believe that my kindness and transparency to help others is easy to recognize. And because of this, developing meaningful therapeutic relationships is my greatest strength.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe CBT allows a person to take responsibility of their thoughts and actions to enable a transformative approach to setting and reaching their personal goals. I enjoy using this very successful approach because it drives and produce results.

Compassion Focused

As someone who thrives on developing and maintaining relationships, this cannot be accomplished without compassion and empathy. I believe care and compassion is at the forefront of developing a great therapeutic relationship.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is great for short term goal setting and this has been successful especially in the academic setting. Clients are able to focus on the goal and activates collaboration early in the treatment process.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness in the majority of my sessions because it is important for us to focus on the present and recognize our automatic thoughts and feelings. It is important for us to take a step back and recognize our surroundings and how it impacts our peace. A few mindfulness strategies I like to use are grounding, meditation, noticing, breathing, journaling, body scans and reflection.
