(she/her)
Have you been told you're "too nice" or "too sensitive" or "too much"? Hi there, I'm Auria. I specialize in combatting: people-pleasing, anxious attachment, perfectionism, negative self-talk, and "shrinking" self for others. We will use our time in therapy to work through what has been holding you back, causing your anxieties, and making you feel less than your worth. Our therapy sessions will incorporate healing past traumas alongside accomplishing present goals. We will focus on self-care, mental well-being, and emotional awareness. I will help you get to the root of the issue and then focus on what can be changed, controlled, or accepted. We'll set small, step-by-step goals that lead to significant change. I ensure my clients learn to successfully and confidently manage the things that initially seemed like a struggle or insecurity.
During the first session, I will check what prompted my client to initiate therapy and what "therapy" means to them. This discussion will help me understand my client's needs, so I can ensure each session is meaningful or empowering moving forward. Overall, I want my clients to feel that they are getting exactly what they intended to as therapy progresses. We will set goals based on how you'd like to emotionally feel, think, and respond in the future. Together, we will work toward bridging the gap between the life you have and the life you want.
I have a lot of experience working with victims of narcissistic abuse from parents and/or romantic partners. Many of my clients are working on getting rid of patterns of people-pleasing, low self-esteem, codependency, and/or anxious-attachment - all of which lead them to end up with someone narcissistic. I help my clients establish their goals, break patterns, and set boundaries. I ensure all of my clients have a better sense of who they are, learn how to listen to their needs, and prioritize themselves.
My ideal client is someone who is struggling with their self-worth/self-esteem, matching with unideal partners, unsure how to break patterns that are emotionally harming them, and/or people-pleasing. This client is unsure how to put themselves first in their own life (even though they want to), has anxiety around what others are thinking, and would like to learn the skills to grow their self-love, confidence, and boundary-setting.

Humanistic
I use a couple different treatment methods, but Humanistic is the most fitting for who I am as a therapist. In therapy, my clients and I review how they see the world and how the world sees them. We break down societal messages and messages that stemmed from relationships (romantic or parental) and separate them from true needs/wants/goals. I use some CBT to connect my clients' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With this information, it's easier for clients to break unwanted patterns, update their thoughts, and have a better understanding of themselves overall. I will also incorporate Attachment-based therapy into sessions to help review behaviors learned in childhood that are still affecting clients as adults, especially in romantic relationships. My clients will process and learn more about their childhood/ development and their strengths, and then gain the power to change their lives.
