New to Grow
One thing about life, it can seem so uncontrollable. You may endure experiences that are unimaginable and be faced with hardships that you may think you cannot overcome but guess what you found therapy! Therapy is an empowering space where hope and healing is ignited and individuals discover a calming sense of self and resiliency. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New Jersey and provide therapy to adolescents and adults. I create a compassionate environment free of judgment for you to show up authentically during this journey. In my practice I assist individuals experiencing challenges associated with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, and those managing life's stressors. It can be scary to begin but I’m willing to take this ride with you. Let’s explore and discover the best version of you!
During the first session, I like to build rapport as l introduce myself so that you're aware of who you are working with. I will also ask various questions to begin gaining an understanding of your needs, learn where you are and where I have to meet you.
Compassion, empathy, creativity and a warm aura are just a few of the spices I embody to create the perfect therapeutic recipe. In addition to those qualities, my flexibility is empowering. I believe each client I work with is an individual and I enter treatment with that mindset. With my ability to be flexible, I am able to twist and turn my therapeutic knowledge, skills, and strategies to meet the needs of my client.
My ideal client is the client who is courageous enough to take the first step, which is the client who is willing to make the phone call to begin this amazing journey. My philosophy for treatment is therapy is like a car ride. During this ride, you're the driver and I am the passenger. Through your determination, resiliency and willingness to learn I will help guide you to wherever you want to go. The best part about this ride is on our journey we will sight see so many beautiful places and acknowledge that every sight helped us get to where we are meant to go!
Emotions may be intense and unhealthy coping strategies may be used to manage the intensity. You and I will work together to learn how to identify intense emotions, triggers, and new strategies to manage intense emotions and calm your body.
Awareness is key! You and I will learn how thought patterns influence your behaviors. Then, we will work together to recognize patterns in your thinking style and explore ways to challenge thoughts and replace unwanted behaviors with helpful behaviors.
