Hello, I'm Tara... I love working with clients who are struggling with career and life transitions, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management and sex, intimacy & relationship concerns. Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked for years in the entertainment industry with various film, TV and music artists. I love to work with creative types and understand the challenges many face working in that industry. I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University with an emphasis on trauma studies. I'm a member of AASECT with the goal of becoming an AASECT certified sex therapist in the near future. I'm also a 500-hour RYT certified yoga and meditation teacher. I like to incorporate somatic and mindfulness exercises into my work with individuals and groups. I also have a background working as a sexual assault advocate and bring a strong passion and skill set for working with individuals with sexual trauma histories. I'm based in Los Angeles. When I'm not working, I can be found with my Chihuahua (Homer), hiking, reading, watching film & TV and working on creative writing projects.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. The first intake session is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapeutic process and to see if we could be a good fit to work together on your treatment goals. I currently am available to see clients M-F.

Attachment-based
I use attachment based interventions when working with individuals who are struggling with difficulties with romantic, family and professional relationships and have expressed a desire to work on behavioral and cognitive changes to address those concerns.
