I am a clinical psychologist, and have been practicing in Los Angeles for 10 years. My aim is to help clients process their lived experiences and associated emotions in order to foster greater meaning and ease. You are the expert on your own life, and I try to support as well as challenge your current thinking in order for you to learn more about yourself and make meaningful changes.
In your first session, we will discuss what has been going on for you and the struggles you've been facing in addition to what you wish to gain from therapy. It is a free flowing conversation in which a collaborative relationship begins to be established.
I provide clients with a non-judgemental environment in which they can safely explore their own minds in service to creating a better future for themselves. I am supportively direct and unafraid to discuss any topic a client might bring into the therapy room. I provide an environment in which people can contain their distress, and leave it behind.
I come from a training background rooted in trauma and related anxiety and depression. This experience lends itself to being able to support people with a variety of difficulties, and allows me to be collaborative and flexible with clients. In this way, clients have agency and power in their treatment, which leads to lasting change.
In order to understand how we behave in the present, it is necessary to examine the past and determine how best to proceed in the future. Psychodynamic therapy promotes self-awareness, improves emotional regulation, and leads to lasting changes in personality and interpersonal fucntion.
Existential psychotherapy emphasizes an individual's capacity for growth, freedom, and responsibility. Clients are also encouraged to explore how they find meaning in their lives and how this meaning makes life difficulties more bearable.
