Thank you for stopping by my page! What you will experience as my client will always be based upon the following: professionalism, care, and experience. I consider effective mental health treatment to be a life-changing experience and it is my goal as your therapist to support you 100% in reaching your goals. My philosophy is this: "I'll always help if you'll always try." I have worked with a wide variety of people, and find that almost all of us can connect as fellow humans. I am currently licensed in North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, and California, and make my home in beautiful Southern Oregon. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE A FULL-TIME PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF GROW AND IF YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT CHOICE IS MADE FOR THE FOLLOWING DAY OR 2-3 DAYS AWAY, I WILL LIKELY HAVE TO MOVE IT OUT SEVERAL DAYS. IF YOUR NEED IS MORE EMERGENT, THEN PLEASE ACCESS CARE LOCALLY OR YOU MAY FIND ANOTHER THERAPIST ON GROW THERAPY THAT IS AVAILABLE SOONER. I TRY TO BALANCE HELPING AS MANY AS I CAN WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE CARE. THANK YOU, SAM

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A great first session for me involves a little bit about why you are seeking a therapist, and time spent explaining what each of us may expect from each other, and answering any of your questions. For me, a first session is a time for you to decide if you feel safe and comfortable in my "office", and can trust me to help you.:-)

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Our workspace will be friendly, non-judgmental, respectful, and open to discussing whatever you feel is relevant to your progress. I continually build my knowledge by taking a rigorous approach to professional development.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a cornerstone of mental health treatment, and the forerunner of many newer modalities. Thoughts, feelings, and actions make sense to us all, and these will be the foundations our approach.
