Do you feel like you are currently drowning in life's problems? Are you struggling to keep everything together? Are your relationships suffering? My name is Karen (Kari) Rodriguez, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Florida and South Carolina. I have obtained a master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling with honors from Southeastern University. I am pursuing my doctorate in marriage and family therapy at National University, specializing in children and adolescent therapy. In therapy, I empower my clients to overcome the burden of their anxiety and/or depression symptoms to regain control over their lives. I am passionate about helping clients see positive outcomes in their lives through effective mental health treatment. Therefore, I have received training in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Gottman Couples Therapy. I am certified in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT), I am a certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and I have training in Gottman Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2). I also utilize psychodynamic therapy and attachment-based therapy in treatment as well. I love mixing these approaches to get to your struggles' core. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the ineffective behaviors that are holding you back. Let's work together!
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and then dive into your specific challenges. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with different populations and treated various issues for the past 7 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. My approach is unique in that I can understand individuals in the context of its systems (I.e., family, couple, etc.)
The client populations I am passionate about serving are individuals and families in Florida and South Carolina. I want to serve clients actively looking to change their lives by transforming their minds and addressing their problematic behaviors through evidence-based practices. I am competent in treating all types of anxiety and depressive disorders, ADHD, and adolescent/family issues.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps people identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is practical and goal-oriented, often involving exercises to help change thought patterns and behaviors over time. It's commonly used for anxiety, depression, stress, and many other mental health issues.
Attachment-based therapy is a type of therapy treatment model that focuses on how early relationships—especially with parents or caregivers—affect the way we connect with others as adults. This therapy helps people understand how their past relationships influence their current ones. As your therapist, I aim to provide a safe space to explore these patterns, heal emotional wounds, and build healthier, more secure connections with others—whether in romantic relationships, friendships, or family dynamics.
