I am Cyndi Horwitz, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Marital in Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and have been working as a Licensed Therapist since 2007. I am trained to work with all aspects of interpersonal relationships. I provide therapy services to adult clients. My practice is dedicated to providing a thoughtful and compassionate setting for clients to find more effective ways to address issues and concerns that are negatively impacting their lives. I carefully weave together elements from my personal background, theoretical approach, advanced training in trauma, and yogic philosophy to create a unique and customized therapeutic experience for each client. Together we will address emotional challenges related to past traumas, anxiety, sadness and depression, feelings of being overwhelmed, stuck or hopeless, identity development and relationship struggles to create balance and wellness. The therapeutic journey is one of courage, hope, self- care, and self-determination and I am here to help.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to slow down and get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, what feels heavy or overwhelming right now, and what you hope will feel different. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we move at your pace. I also take time to understand how your nervous system responds to stress, what support looks like in your life, and any patterns you’ve noticed in relationships or within yourself. My goal is to make the space feel safe, grounded, and judgment-free. By the end of the session, we’ll talk through what therapy can look like moving forward — the approach, the rhythm, and the tools we might use together. You can ask me anything, and we decide together whether it feels like a good fit. You don’t need to prepare or show up a certain way. Just come as you are. Our work begins with presence, compassion, and curiosity

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I utilize a Mind-Body Psychotherapy approach, by exploring the connection between the emotional , physical, and spiritual self .In sessions, I focus on aspects traditional psychotherapy such as life history and current stressors by integrating techniques such as mindfulness, yoga therapy, meditation, mantra and guided imagery. These techniques can provide insight and healing into a variety of mental conditions including stress, depression, anxiety, grief and trauma.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My work blends traditional Marriage & Family Therapy with body-based practices that help people understand what’s happening inside their nervous system. I was trained as a yoga therapist long before it became mainstream, and I integrate breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and somatic awareness into talk therapy in simple, accessible ways. I believe healing happens through both insight and regulation. My approach helps clients understand their patterns, emotions, and relationships while also giving the body tools to feel safer, calmer, and more grounded. I work from a place of compassion and curiosity, always honoring each person’s lived experience rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all model. I show up in the room as a real, attuned human—steady, warm, and present. My goal is to help clients reconnect to their own inner wisdom, build nervous system flexibility, and move through life with more clarity, ease, and self-trust.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m especially well-suited to support people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in long-standing patterns that no longer serve them. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but carrying a lot internally — caregivers, parents, helpers, empaths, and people who have always been the “strong one” in their family. I work well with adults navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, chronic stress, and relationship challenges. I also support individuals who feel the impact of childhood emotional wounds and want to understand how those early experiences shape their nervous system, identity, and relationships today. Because my work integrates somatic tools, mindfulness, and nervous system education, I’m a good fit for clients who want more than talk therapy — people who are open to understanding how their body holds their story, and who want gentle, practical tools they can use in their daily life.
