(she/her)
New to Grow
I am a Black, Fat, Queer, 2nd Generation, licensed psychotherapist (she/her) who believes in the power of identity, community, and healing through nurturing connections. I provide therapy that models a the dimensions of a healthy connection; therapy that is safe, culturally attuned and balanced with insight and action. I show up as warm, direct, and collaborative, blending curiosity, humor, and accountability in our work together. My perspective is informed by progressive, justice-oriented values, and I believe therapy can be a space to explore both personal experiences and the broader political and economical systems that shape them. Outside of sessions, I’m a self-described food critic and cultural enthusiast. I love exploring new cultures through food, music, and language. I’m also an avid reader and a parent, which continues to shape how I understand care, connection, and the many roles we hold.
Our first session sets the stage for our for our work together. It is centered on hearing your unique story. We’ll gently explore your life experiences, including meaningful moments, relationships, and values that have shaped who you are today. We’ll also talk through what’s been feeling most present or challenging for you right now, whether that’s stress, emotions, or patterns you’re noticing. Together, we’ll begin to clarify what you’re hoping to get out of therapy and identify initial goals, while building a sense of comfort, trust, and direction for our work ahead.
What makes my work unique is the way I balance warmth with intention. You’ll feel genuinely accepted while also being challenged to grow in meaningful, tangible ways. I offer a model for healthy connection, where you can experience consistency, honesty, and perspective in a way that often feels new and healing. Our work isn’t just about talking; we build practical skills together, from emotional regulation to communication and stress management, so you can see change in your daily life. I hold you accountable in a supportive way, helping you stay connected to your goals without shame. I integrate body-based (somatic) practices when helpful, so healing isn’t just intellectual but embodied as well. There’s room for laughter and lightness, even when we’re working through heavy things. I’m deeply mindful of cultural values, identity, and lived experiences, and I actively incorporate those into our work together. I am also a kink-aware professional, with education and lived experience in alternative relationship styles and diverse sexual needs, offering an affirming and nonjudgmental space for exploration.
Integrative
I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic techniques—to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and context and address patterns across emotional, cognitive, and relational goals. I believe an individualized approach is authentic to each sessions content.
