Hola! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters in Psychology and have been practicing for eight years throughout the state and seventeen years experience in the mental health field. I have experience working with high risk cases, working with veterans and law enforcement, correctional facilities and hospital settings. I provide support individuals of all ages with increase to insight and decrease of undesired symptoms. I also work with couples and family through a therapeutic approach in assisting in growing within the family dynamic. All in an attempt to reach a better versions of themselves. También hablo en español para sus necesidades de salud mental y las de su familia.
First session the focus will be on rapport building. Rapport building is a relationship characterized by agreement, mutual understanding, or empathy that makes communication possible or easy. This is done by providing a safe, non-judgmental space for one to express themselves open and comfortably. This can provide an opportunity for the client to experience firsthand my personal style and decide if my style is a good fit for you. After all, this is all about you.
My greatest strength, I have been told, is the ability to provide a safe place where individuals have felt not only comfortable, but a sensation of engaging with an old friend. I believe in the power of words and attempt to be cautions in the words I speak and provide support, guidance and a place of peace and kindness.
I enjoy working with all clients, and welcome new or rare circumstances which lead for a person to seek services. My passion is working with individuals transitioning into the next phase in life. Weather a new job/ career, death or birth of a loved one, new relationship or starting all over, all take time to adjust to a new you. The average person takes about six months to adjust to new changes, I can provide support by normalizing some thoughts and behaviors and assisting guidance to the person you seek to reach.
