Jennifer Dzielak
Maybe you are working through constant stress and anxiety, searching for deeper meaning, or simply needing someone to walk alongside you through life’s ups and downs. It’s important to me that every session feels like a safe space where you can share openly and know that your unique story matters. Together, we’ll honor where you’ve been, focus on where you are, and dream about where you want to go. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
First session
Every session is designed around what you need most that day. During our first session, we will explore why you are seeking therapy and decide together on the best ways to help you make progress. My approach often includes supporting women through life challenges, integrating spirituality when it is meaningful to you, and offering coaching to help you set and reach your goals.
Strengths
I love working with women who are open to exploring spirituality as part of their healing journey—whether that means drawing on faith, mindfulness, or simply connecting with a sense of purpose. I help her clarify her goals, celebrate her strengths, and take practical steps toward the future she envisions, and incorporate coaching into our sessions. I understand reaching out for support may feel vulnerable. I want you to know that you are not alone. My approach is to meet you where you are, honor your story & challenges, & to help you along life’s journey. My hope is that you feel heard & supported each step of the way, knowing that this is a space for you to explore, heal, & grow.
Ideal clients
I work with clients who are exploring therapy to address anxiety, process life's challenges, and find support when it is needed most. I integrate spirituality when it is meaningful to you. Together, we will focus on what feels right for you - sometimes revisiting the past, other times looking at the present and the future. I have helped clients who have experienced trauma.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT can help us understand that emotions are what make us, us, and are a part of being human. ACT can teach us notice feelings and thoughts that are difficult, without letting them control our actions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps with noticing thought patterns, changing behaviors and trying new behaviors, practicing coping skills, and catching our thoughts before our brain tells us something that isn't true.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
One may think of DBT as having a toolbox for your emotions. The tools may help you navigate rough patches. The skills learned through DBT may help you understand emotions that may be overwhelming. DBT helps with making sense of emotions and how to respond to them.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Therapy helps us spend less time getting stuck in the problem, or problems, and more time figuring out what could make things better. The focus isn't always solving everything going on in your life today. It is more about things that can be done today, or one thing that could make tomorrow a little better.
Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is an approach that helps understand that there is more to you than your problems. It helps with tools you may already have, such as resilience, compassion, your sense of humor, creativity, persistence, and your willingness to ask for help. You may even have skills that you have developed over time and we will incorporate them into our sessions.
