LMHC, 4 years of experience
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support patients in gently working through painful or overwhelming experiences that may still feel “stuck.” With the help of bilateral stimulation, EMDR allows the brain to process these memories in a way that feels safer and less triggering. I combine it with grounding and somatic techniques so patients feel supported and in control throughout the process.
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support patients in making sense of difficult experiences and reducing the distress connected to them. Together, we work on building coping skills, gently processing traumatic memories, and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns into more supportive ones. I balance structure with compassion, creating space for patients to feel safe while also learning practical tools they can use every day.
I often integrate mindfulness-based therapy into my work, helping patients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. By slowing down and noticing with curiosity rather than judgment, patients learn to respond to stress in healthier ways instead of reacting automatically. I guide mindfulness practices such as breathing, grounding, or gentle body awareness to build calm and stability. This approach supports patients in cultivating resilience, self-compassion, and a deeper sense of connection and acceptance.
I use somatic therapy to help patients connect with and listen to the wisdom of their bodies. Trauma and stress often live in the nervous system, and by noticing sensations, breath, and movement, patients can release tension and restore a sense of safety. I guide grounding and regulation practices that allow individuals to process emotions not just through the mind, but through the body as well.
