(she/her)
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a passion for helping young adults navigate life transitions and stressors. My goal is to make a lasting impact on your life by empowering you to identify the tools you need to navigate challenges and manage stress effectively. I'll work with you to explore how societal structures and systems impact your well-being and sense of self. Through this approach I foster self-awareness, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the connections between race, identity, and mental health.
In the first session with me, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin to establish a foundation of trust and understanding. We will complete introductory paperwork, discuss your reason for seeking therapy and work together to identify specific goals that you want to work towards. By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to feel more at ease and hopeful about the therapeutic journey ahead.
Having worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a spectrum of life stressors, I bring a depth of experience and empathy to my practice. I understand that life can present various challenges, and my goal is to provide compassionate support tailored to each person's unique circumstances. My approach is rooted in cultural competence and a commitment to understanding the unique contexts and perspectives of each individual. By working collaboratively, we identify coping mechanisms, enhance resilience, and foster personal growth amidst life's challenges.
I have a strong passion for working with clients who are navigating challenging moments in their lives and seeking support to enhance their coping skills. Life can present us with various stressors and obstacles, and I find great fulfillment in helping individuals develop effective strategies to manage these challenges with resilience and grace. In our sessions, I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where we can explore the specific stressors you're facing and identify personalized coping techniques that suit your unique needs. Whether you're dealing with relationship issues, work-related stress, family dynamics, health concerns, or other life transitions, I'm here to help you build a toolkit of coping skills.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I incorporate SFBT techniques to support chronically ill clients in navigating grief, adjustment to life changes, and discovering their own pathways towards healing and adaptation. Through this practice I work with clients in harnessing their strengths and resilience as they navigate their challenging journey and life transitions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize a CBT approach within my practice to help clients break free from negative thought patterns, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and develop coping skills for long term well being. In helping clients identify and understand their negative thought patterns we can then begin the process of challenging and reframing these thoughts to develop an alternative explanation which can lead to behavioral changes that can counteract depression and anxiety in clients.
Psychodynamic
I integrate a psychodynamic approach in my clinical work to allow clients to obtain a deeper understanding of fear, loss and existential angst which offers the opportunity for holistic healing. Through these principles I help clients in developing greater self awareness, resilience, and adaptive coping strategies in the face of life stressors.
