Brian Walsh
Hi, name is Brian Walsh and I am an LMHC who specializes in in the treatment of anxiety disorder, depression and self esteem related issues as well as having treated people with ADHD and various addiction disorders. I have been working professionally as a counselor for the last 5 years and I have been licencensed since 2022. I believe that with hard, work, honesty and a commitment to make internal changes will result in improved emotional recognition, control and improved sense of happiness and well being.
First session
The first session will be focused an building a rapport while also establishing the client's chosen area of focus. This will also be a time to collaboratively set Treatment plan goals, both short and long term.
Strengths
I am a very empathetic counselor who is good at meeting the client at their level and helping them to improve both emotional recognition and control. I am also good at helping people raise their self self esteem which is a major component of many mental disorders.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve those struggling with anxiety, anxiety related conditions, depression, self esteem problems problems ,ADHD, as well as substance use disorders and difficulties with self motivation. I am best when seeing clients 16 years and older and the age requirement is only patient qualifier.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT techniques that focus on evidence based practices and results that allow the client and therapist set tangible goals.
Eclectic
I also focus on person centered therapy that hones in on the uniqueness of individual while also referring to mindfulness techniques designed to help the client stay in the present moment.
