I am passionate about helping people find beauty and peace in all of their broken pieces. I work diligently to create a safe space for you to share without fear of judgment, so we can piece you back together into a healthier and happier you. I pursued my career because it gives me a sense of purpose to help people find joy in life again, or sometimes for the first time.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is the "get to know you", I have to ask a lot of questions in that first session, but I try my best to make it an easy conversation. I'm flexible and understand how difficult and awkward first sessions can be, and because of that I work hard to begin creating a safe space in that first session. I have to ask hard questions but I also have worked very hard to know how to ask them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love a puzzle. I love working with people who think they are "unfixable" I am passionate about my work and helping people, so when I take someone on as a client I am their #1 supporter and encourager. I remind them how hard it is to do the work and how much impact it will have on their life. I can also be pushy, respectfully of course, but you're not going to see change if you don't do the work so I push you to do the work and remind you of what you're working for.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have practiced EMDR for a number of years and find that it is extremely helpful but can be intense. I have successfully utilized the modality via telehealth and feel that it is extremely life changing when it is the right fit

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma is everywhere. I believe it is important to work from a standpoint of believing that everyone has trauma, this bridges gaps and helps people feel more comfortable in their own skin.

Sandplay

Sandplay can be appropriate when talking is just not sufficient or when you have that "Something is wrong but I don't know what" feeling. It can be a tool to help us uncover thoughts and emotions that we try to stuff down into ourselves.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I believe it is important to understand that people are all different, they believe differently, speak differently, trust differently, they just are different. It is not fair to assume that one practice is going to fit all people and situations. For this reason, I am a very culturally sensitive therapist and I practice from a space of understanding without judgment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a way to help identify negative thought patterns and develop new skills to healthier cognitive processing. I use this to help understand the connection between emotions, behaviors and thought patterns and to break the cognitive distortions
