The desire to know and to be known is a normal human experience. I am honored to be a part of the journey to help you connect with yourself as well as with others. I value the trauma-informed safety and client-centered connection we collaboratively create through a systematic lens. I approach this work holistically with warmth, empathy, and ever-developing curiosity. I work with people experiencing a variety of challenges, but I specialize in helping those who experience trauma and seek navigation around life transitions and challenges, as well as those who are healing from unhealthy relationships. I am also passionate about working with those who have an immigrant background. Through compassion, sensitivity, and empowerment, we will work together respectfully to acknowledge vulnerability, unearth patterns, attend to complexity, and gain ownership of change to achieve the most authentic and expansive self. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support, empower, and be a witness to your growth. I look forward to working with you!
Clients usually find themselves connecting more easily and open up more when we are a good match for each other. They feel better just being with someone who can listen and explore the past safely with. Client is the expert on their own experiences. During our time together, we will work as allies to make sustainable, lasting, and meaningful steps toward a more fulfilling life. We will unpack some of the emotions, trauma, and life challenges in a meaningful and manageable way to create change. I also hope that we can ground in those panicking moments, listen to our bodies and emotions, and move through them to build containers slowly and steadily.
My therapy style draws influence from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Experience, and Psychodynamic frameworks.
As an immigrant and an Asian-identified therapist, I am particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality. I believe in the importance of affirming the unique individual experience with cultural humility.
